NSW: Second truck driver fatality in a week on NSW roads

SYDNEY, April 24 AAP - Two semi-trailers have collided in northern NSW, killing one
driver and seriously injuring the other.

A load of wrecked cars from one of the trucks was strewn across the Pacific Highway
just north of the Iluka Road turnoff near Grafton early on Friday.

The driver of the northbound truck, which had been carrying chemicals, died at the
scene of the crash, police said.

The 60-year-old driver of the southbound truck was airlifted to Lismore Base Hospital
where he is in a stable condition.

The crash happened about 12.40am (AEST). Northbound lanes of the highway were closed
for more than 12 hours, forcing drivers to detour through Casino and Lismore.

It's the second fatal truck crash this week.

A man was killed when his B-double crashed off the F3 Freeway north of Sydney on Tuesday.

Police have appealed for witnesses to Friday's crash, saying one of the trucks may
have crossed onto the wrong side of the highway before colliding with the other.
