Vic: Woman found dead in fire in house blacked out by storm

An elderly woman's died in a blaze in a Melbourne house that has been without power
since Wednesday's freak storm.

Arson Squad detectives say the occupants had been using a generator and candles to
power and light the Clyde home .. before it went up in flames at around 9.30 (AEDT) tonight.

Police and the Country Fire Authority say the 82 year old woman was found in the back
bedroom .. after the fire began in a front bedroom.

A man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s .. also in the house at the time .. are in
Dandenong Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined.
