NSW: Search for missing canyoner in Blue Mountains stepped up

SYDNEY, Dec 30 AAP - The search for a canyoner missing for nearly two days in the Blue
Mountains west of Sydney has been upgraded this morning.

Scott Campbell and three friends entered Claustral Canyon at Mount Tomah on Thursday
morning, but he left the group at about midday to get help when one of the canyoners dislocated
a knee.

His friends, who later made their way out, believe he missed the exit point of the
canyon at Rainbow Ravine.

Police Rescue, the special ambulance unit SCAT, Polair and members of the Blue Mountains
Climbers rescue group began a search this morning after ground and aerial searches found
no sign of the man yesterday.
